HISTORY
quiet . observant . blunt . harsh . cold . stubborn
passionate . patient . fatherly . sneaky
GOOSE here has always been what you would call; on the quiet side. Being a rather old feline compared to the feline's in his position (save, maybe cedarstar); he has seen a few more things and experienced a bit more turmoil then one would think. Described by many GOOSE is known to have a very quiet personality that many at first glance believe to be cold as ice. For a feline whose life has been as long as his own, he has learned to control his temper and mastered his own patiences. He's had to to deal with the morons and idiots that he has encountered. GOOSE can also be described as harsh and blunt when it comes to certain interactions; and has a nasty tendency to look down upon other cats when speaking to them especially if he believes he himself is correct. That is why when most look at him - especially in this day and age - they see a cranky old tom, whose to stubborn for his own good. But one can say all the bad things they want about GOOSE, how harsh he can be or how cold his glances are, they can never discredit the fact that he is passionate about his clan and their wellbeing. He is almost fatherly to the apprentices; while not in a sweet kind of way, but in the stern upper-lip kinda way. He provided feed back and allows only the best of the best to arrive at warriorhood. Being leader for the last twenty moons means he has had experience running his clan and knowing his warriors. Many would joke that no one would be able to tie this cold hearted beast down either; but many haven't tired.APPEARANCE

Described as a rather large; well more so larger then the average feline, GOOSE stands in at least half a head to a full head taller then the normal size male feline. Many find this an odd characteristic as looking back along the line of his parents, neither had cats who were of this size. However, it was rumoured that his grandfather on his mother's side was not of the clan which would also explain his unusually long and fluffy grey coat. GOOSE has been told before in his youth that his coat of fur was something that was both a grey beauty and survival asset, as well as a curse. During long green-leaf days, GOOSE as an apprentice and warrior would come under great bouts of heat exhaustion, and during the long cold leaf-bare nights his pelt kept him out the longest, striving for the lost food they needed. His strength comes with his muscular built and his strong powerful legs. They propel him forward at greater speeds; though not as fast as others, due to his pelt weigh him down even the slightest. The most unusual of all about GOOSE tho, would be his icy blue gaze, something neither his parents nor their known clan parents process. It's a trait that dewflight - his grandmother - swears is part of her family history, tho the truth is that it belongs to his great-grandfather. GOOSE, being the runt of his litter; grew to be taller then his brother, but lacks the greatness in hunting that his brother owns. His warrior name was GOOSESTRIKE for a reason - and it wasn't for his hunting powers.

HISTORY
pre-birth ,,
Let's take a few moments to just reflect on the time before there was a GOOSESTAR, before he was a warrior, an apprentice or even a kit. It starts back to the day many moons prior to GOOSE's birth. Dewflight, a beautiful grey she-cat, with bright green eyes was seduced and fell madly in love with a large handsome grey-brown tabby tom with icy blue eyes. Her passion and adoration for this feline brought a great many woes for her as she became swollen with kits and when she went on her second moon, belly round and displaying her obvious mistake; she found the tom she had grown to love and care for was no where to be found. Heart broken she vowed she would teach her kittens the ways of the clan, and that should anyone claim to know the father she would shoot them down. Surprisingly she birthed three kittens; two of which were born still, but the last - a sweet little grey kitten survived. She named this kitten Dovekit. Dewflight raised her daughter thoughtfully and lovingly; and as the daughter of Dewflight grew up; fell in and out of love, Dewflight began to question if she has ever really loved Eagle as well. One night; as Dewflight decided to retire to the elder's den; her daughter who was nearing 40 moons, approached her and told her that she had found a mate in a tom named Weaseltooth. A young strapping young tom whose paws shuffled uncomfortably at asking Dewflight her blessings. The two felines in love were granted it, tho cautioned to be careful. It wouldn't be until four moons before her passing, that Dewflight would hear the news of a litter of kits born to her daughter - out of four; 2 surviving. When they visited her on her last night alive; her breath had hitched and her eyes had sparkled with a mist of tears; for her last words to her grandsons were; "Eagle... you've come back to me..."
kittenhood ,,
GOOSE can remember the first few days after his birth in an arrangement of loud noises and soft whimpers. He does not remember much of the time other then the pressing of another body against his; mewing and the scent of milk. His hearing had always been a bit impacted at birth; and the soft mumbles took longer to take form into actual words. He was the runt of the litter - a ball of fluff; until he was a moon old; and then his size began to grow, quickly expanding like a hot air balloon. He was a late bloomer; opening his eyes twenty-nine days to the T; where as his brother had opened his eyes within a week and a half. He was one moon old when he realized that the words "Goosekit" belonged to him, and that it was his name. His mother was gentle with him; but the young tom was to stubborn for his own good at a young age; and followed his father clumsily out into the real world one morning on his first moon. He was ambushed by the rays of the cold leaf-bare's sun, and was amused by the way that the cold white powder on the ground cooled his overheated body. His mother would usher him back inside and he would stare from the entrance in a longing that one would only assume from a kitten of at least 5 moons. He did not want to be a kit; he wanted to be an apprentice and roam the camp freely. He was four moons old when he was able to finally venture into the other dens and meet a feline who his mother spoke of fondly. Dewflight was grey - a grey that resembled age - and she was going deaf in both ears as well as blind in one eye. It was no doubt she was dying; the smell of it hung around her like flies to dung. GOOSE had never expected anything from her; not an acknowledgement, but her eyes seemed to clear up before growing misty; and her last and only words to them haunted him that night. When he told his mother of what Dewflight had said; he never got a response back, only a... "Dewflight always told stories of a fierce warrior named Eagle - something... but I don't know why she'd say that to you sweetie." He was five moons old when he stood before the leader; his ears pressed back against his skull as he was chewed out for allowing Viperkit to sneak out of camp. When his leader walked away; the pride and courage waving off the older female, GOOSE knew that he'd be leader.
apprenticeship ,,
GOOSE was apprenticed a half moon before his actual sixth moon birthday. He stood proudly beside his brother Viperkit and the two would approach their leader Amberstar with a gleam in their eyes. Below the gathering place stood the deputy Bluestorm; to whom looked onwards with a wary glance. GOOSE was impressed by the beautiful she-cat duo and wanted to be powerful like them. He stood at the base of the gathering place and watched as his brother got the leader of the clan as his mentor and when GOOSE padded forward he expected the deputy. But it was a elderly warrior; whose ears were war torn and his pelt was ragged. The tom before him smelt like he bathed last week; but it was to Rocknose that the leader sent him. He spitted at his brother that night when the jokes began to rise; but it was gentle Lilypaw who calmed the larger tom's anger. "Rocknose is my uncle through my mother... in his prime he was the greatest warrior she says. You might be surprised." But GOOSE was not, for the first moon of training was him running the borders; repeating the locations of certain areas within his clan. He was furious; and one night when he sat down beside his brother with Amberstar and his mentor he was shocked to find that their first had been a test. Rocknose and Amberstar were mates; and they're common goal was to see which of their apprentices would do better. GOOSE's knowledge of the territory was far better then his brother's; where has his brother's hunting had gotten to the point of being normal for a first moon apprentice.
GOOSE was soon under the crunch for the next moon; between running the borders, keeping his mind sharp and practicing his hunting and fighting skills; he was beginning to believe in the terms of his mentor's condition. His mentor would never face him directly; and GOOSE eventually chalked it up to him being hold - because instead Rocknose would have his own son and former apprentice, Bearshadow take up the actual in battle training. GOOSE never knew what hit him one night on his eighth moon when he successfully blocked two attacks at once by throwing off Bearshadow into his father. He was given the permission to join the cats when they went to the gathering. It was here he met Cricketpaw for the first time. She was everything he imagined his dream girl to be; cute and petite, funny and a little spunky. She held his attention and when he asked her to see him again; he could never forget the utter horror in her eyes. "That's against the warrior's code, mousedung." She left him hurting; eyes misty with tears. No one had heard the interaction thankfully. It would only be a few days later on the end of the world border that they came across a group of three large toms trying to pick a fight. GOOSE helped defend both his mentor and the leader and his brother, but alas as the fighting broke off with two out of three surviving fleeing down the path they had climbed up - they noticed Amberstar was breathing heavy.
Their leader lost a life; leaving her with just one left. GOOSE was shocked when they returned to camp and he over heard the medicine cat providing this information; stating Amberstar did not have much longer as her body was failing; organs slowly shutting down. GOOSE, along with Rocknose and the medicine cat were the only ones to know - and he watched his leader breathlessly move; and perform her duties up until the night he and Viperpaw snuck out of camp to retrieve some herbs to assist with her laboured breathing. They left them at the entrance of the den to the leader's den and were shocked to see Rocknose appearing from the depths. "She is in her final moments boys; those will not help her anymore. Go, do whatever mischievous things apprentices due this day and leave her to me." They only heard a strangled muffled cry of pain as they walked away; and when Rocknose never emerged after them they wondered what had become of their mentors. It took the clan until the next morning to realize that the mates had died together in a sleeping fashion; with Amberstar curled into the smallest of balls and Rocknose protectively curled around her. Bluestorm rose to power on his tenth moon; and named the two mentorless apprentices to one warrior. Bearshadow took over the training of both apprentices; in honour of his parents.
Viperpaw and GOOSE were as good as any apprentice in their final moons. GOOSE stood taller then the large Largestep; and was fluffier then even Cedarfeather. He was an outstanding looking tom with handsome features and while another tuffle over the border with Leafclan did happen; it would seem nothing short of a few scratches maimed his pelt. It was after this border dispute that he stood before the leader Bluestar and received his warrior name. Goosestrike. "For your impressive display in fighting that even Amberstar and Rocknose would be proud of." He stood proudly at that twelve moon mark; looking back over his shoulder at his fuming brother and winking in that slightly sarcastic and snobby way.
warriorhood ,,
GOOSE was only a warrio for a moon and a half before he was apprenticed a petite little she-cat by the name of Heatherpaw. She was a beautiful cat, and even GOOSE found it hard to think that this precious little cat was a fierce and strict feline. Heatherpaw wanted no excuses; she wanted to train hard and live hard. She refused to allow a day off even when she sprained her paw. But GOOSE did; he was strict and harsh with her; and always tsked at her when he could get. But they both knew deep down he took pride in her and wanted her to be well. It was why after only two moons of intense training he allowed her to come with him to the gathering. He sent her to the apprentices with a purr and a cuff over the ear. That was when he spotted her; all sleek and beautiful as before. Cricketpaw - or Cricketsong in this case - had grown into a beauty and she had captured the tom's heart again and again. But this time as so many times before; GOOSE refused to move an inch in her direction. He was shocked however, when she sat beside him and began to whisper the things he had wanted from her moons before in his youth. He agreed to their little meeting a few days from now; and when the time came, GOOSE stood on the edge of the clearing waiting to see if she would actually show up. He stood there as the night aged; and he stood there even when she emerged from the brushes looking around.
He left her standing there when he smelled another cat on the wind. He left her there and brushed her into the back of his mind and buried his affection for her in the depths of his heart. When the next gathering came, he spotted her looking and trying to speak to him - but he refused to acknowledge her. He would raise to his paws and go to sit beside his apprentice. Heatherpaw, in all her fierce personality had figured out and followed her mentor that faithful night and had demanded answers. So that gathering night she was shocked to see her mentor settle beside her; and in a fierce display of protectiveness over her mentor; she had curled into him and glared at the Waveclan warrior. Cricketsong never bothered GOOSE again. GOOSE thought his ordeal would be concluded that night; however he heard whispers of his relationship with his apprentice and it would seem his brother Viperclaw was assigned to join them on his training sessions. "The night of the gathering.. I have no other words for it brother, but they think something fishy is happening." His brother honestly spoke; and GOOSE bowed his head in regret and allowed all his sorrows and wrong doings to be laid out on the forest floor. The only ears to hear being his brother's an apprentice's. One moon later Heatherpaw was named Heatherstorm and it was during her vigil that the world seemed to stop. Heatherstorm's yowl of panic and fear woke GOOSE and when he emerged from the warriors den; the night patrol was carrying his father's body as well as a very injured deputy of the clan. He was twenty-five moons when his father passed away; and he was twenty-six when the deputy retired and Bluestar named him her deputy.
deputy ,,
GOOSE was instantly flooded with new responsiblities. He was shocked at the responsibiliies it took to be a good deputy. He lost touch with Heatherstorm and with his brother. The pressure with the new responsibilties; brought a harsh reality to the tom. He would stand beside Bluestar and realize that the memories he had of staring up at both Bluestar and Amberstar back when he was a kitten was something he had always wanted. He would play that scene over in his head repeatedly for hours until he picked it to the bare details. He could feel the weight on his shoulders that he saw in Amberstar's eyes; and he could feel the slightest of twitches when eh sat staring at the clan that he could see in Bluestar's stance that day. But it wasn't much; and with each day he began to relax into his position and one would dare say he started to challenge the boundaries that would come with it. It would not be until the day about four moons in that he was tested the most. A yowl broke out into the camp with the sound of harsh pawsteps; and the sound of a wailing mother and her kits.
At thirty moons old; GOOSE rose from his bedding with a speed that could be described as lightning. He saw the mother wailing after a two large strange felines whoses jaws held the scruff of the kits. It took only a second - one glance across the clearing to see his leader that the two took off. "Flank their left side Goosestrike!" Were his leader's orders and the two raced as full speed, with each step they grew confident in their pursuit and yet they could feel their stomachs dropping as they neared the edge of their territory. It was as they came to a hault beside each other that they saw the two cats before them. One large female and a lanky tom-cat stood before them, the kits resting between their paws. Behind them, Bluestar and GOOSE could hear their clan mates pausing, Bluestar's tail was raised as if to stop everything. The lanky tom was taunting, mean and cruel; the large female looked on blankly and with a stare that would comply with a feline who wasn't completely there. "Keep them safe." When Bluestar struck; no one saw it, and no one would of expected to see her and the lanky tom tumble over the cliff's edge. Their yowls of fear echoing over the ones of shock and panic from not only the large feline whose eyes and ears had turned away from the kits; but the rest of the felines behind GOOSE.
He was quick with his actions; rushing forward and kicking out his legs sending the she-cat down the cliff side five feet to the pathway just below. Shocked, the large she-cat stared up at the large grey cat above her before scurring down the cliff walls. GOOSE would trot over to where Bluestar had taken the lanky tom off into the air; and in the early dawn hours; it would seem like the bottom was covered in a blank of darkness. GOOSE sat at the edge of that cliff until the sun rose high into the sky; when one of the warriors approached him, he turned his eyes to the feline and responded. "I will get her body." The path down was easy to do by himself; but when he approached her body; crushed under the body of the rogue; GOOSE let out the smallest of whimpers before lifting the body onto his shoulders. It would be near dusk when he emerged to the top of the cliff; the medicine cat waiting and looking on in a panic. Bramblefang diagnosed the leader's death to be the fall; the snapping of her spin at the neck had killed her slowly as she had struggled to breath. With this in his mind, he knew that all nine of his leader's lives had been stripped away in one go. One week after the death of Bluestar, GOOSE headed for his nine lives.
leader ,,
GOOSE was brought before the moonstream and as he closed his eyes for the first time in this please he was brought into the starry heavens. Before him he could see felines that would of been important in his life, his eyes scanning the line with interest, only widening at one or two. His first feline to move towards him was his father, who gave him the gift of being a parent, to teach and love each member of his clan like they were his own. His former crush Cricketsong came forward; her eyes were downcasted; and GOOSE could not remember when she had passed; but her death must have been ratehr recent. "The cough took my breath, but with this touch I give you forgiveness." It was with each life; two from kits he had known when he was younger who each gave him a gift of innoncence and patience. It was when his grandmother moved forward; her eyes misty she touched him gently and whispered her apologizes - giving him the gift of love. His mentor Rocknose gave him the gift of teaching, where as Amberstar gave him the gift of leadership. It was when Bluestar moved forward that he waited for her to scrowl him for not giving chase with her. "With this life i give you the courage and strength to do what you believe is right for the clan.. rise Goosestar of Stoneclan."
The stars began to fade that night with his leader's smile being the last thing he saw. His eyes would open and he would see Bramblefang sitting before him; staring at him as if he was a new cat. "You wear their gifts honorably." He never felt so proud of himself then in that moment. He was given the task once he returned to assist in moving his mother from the rank of a warrior to an elder. He was oddly great at the position; giving no heistation as he moved through the daily tasks. He would visit the kits, talk to the apprentices and would observe the warriors from a far. It wasn't until his 13th moon as leader that he was given the task of giving mentors to the new apprentices. He had named a gentle apprentice to one of his best warriors; and when said warrior brought it to his attention he brushed it off as nothing. All apprentices has their moment, "Lilyheart was the same, if you remember." GOOSE would say, and watch as his warrior walked away defeated. When a moon later on a cool night neither mentor nor apprentice returned GOOSE began to worry; but he knew that Crookedear was a capible tom and would handle whatever it was holding him out.
The next morning brought gasps and panic and when GOOSE emerged to the front of the pack; his ears flatten against his head and he listened to her tail. He ordered a patrol for her mentor; and behind closed ferns he spoke quietly to Bramblefang and to the leader of the patrol. "We must send out another for the badger... make sure it is gone." His brother took the patrol to gather Crookedear, while he himself took to the territory. They found no strong scents that it was lingering and returned to camp; and it wouldn't be for a few days before he was approached again about the little feline. "Take care of that one Bramblefang." Was his response, and when the young she-cat was sixteen moons and had received her medicine cats name, he watched his oldest companion and friend retire to the elder's den. It was only a few days later; when he had to deceased down the rock cliff to grab a kit that he lost his first life. He had climbed down and broke the kit up onto the safety of the ledge; letting go of the kitten as it ran back to his mother - the mother, and two of his warriors watched in horror as his footing slipped and he went crashing down the waterfall.
If it was not for a rogue at the bottom of the waterfall; he would of been killed. The young she-cat pulled him from the water; knocked on his chest until he could breath. He spent the night there under the watchful eye of this she-cat until she sent him on his way. GOOSE never got to thank her as he traveled back home; with a fever and a cough. The clan had been in a uproar and when he walked into the camp; the silence was outstanding. "For the love of everything! Goosestar you are alive!" It was warming to watch pelts brush against him, but it was when he looked down upon the body of his mother that the hard tom seemed to grow still. "She passed in the night, she kept asking for you but we couldn't bare to tell her that you had fallen." GOOSE would sit with his mother for the night, growing increasingly annoyed with his brother's constant glaring. When morning came and they carried his mother's body from camp; was when he heard the meow. "She never asked for me... she wanted her baby Goose." That was three moons ago.
Let's take a few moments to just reflect on the time before there was a GOOSESTAR, before he was a warrior, an apprentice or even a kit. It starts back to the day many moons prior to GOOSE's birth.
