PERSONALITY
Ravenstar has always been rather adventurous, and very loyal to her Clan despite her bad history. A fierce Warrior and talented hunter, Ravenstar has always been ahead of the pack. With a smile to die for and an undying will to care for others, the young she-cat was a good choice for deputy despite her age. Ravenstar has very little tolerance for lying or evading the truth, and tends to be incredibly perseptive. She can pick up on a poorly hidden fib almost immediately, and will gladly call you on it. Her Clan mates often find her intuition and intelligence scary and unnatural. Despite how kind hearted she is Ravenstar is a deadly opponent, and will gladly fight with her life on the line to protect her Clan. She uses her speed to her advantage, priding herself on how quickly she can move.
Ravenstar is often curt and to the point, which can make her appear intimidating, especially to the apprentices and kits. She has a passionate love for the forest, and an even bigger passion for climbing. Preferring to spend most of her time in the highest branches of their camp, Ravenstar is well named. Being her own worst critic, the young leader often fears that her lack of experience will lead her Clan into trouble. She also fears the sceptical gazes of the other leaders, who seem to share her fears for LeafClan. Through thick and thin, Ravenstar will lead LeafClan to glory, or die nine times trying.
With small paws and a very long tail, Ravenstar had to learn to balance among the tree branches just like the rest of her Clan did; the hard way. Her tiny paws left her with very little to grip with, and her long tail provided an extra nuisance when trying to balance; that was, until she learned to move properly. Now Ravenstar's long tail keeps her upright easily, swaying back and forth like a metronome to compensate for her shifting weight and poor grip.
Her ears are fairly large, allowing her to pick up noises that could often be missed. Ravenstar prides herself on her hunting capabilities, and having good hearing really helps. They swivel on her soft head to pick up everything around her, even when she does not feel a threat nearby.

APPEARANCE
Ravenstar's glossy pelt is dominantly black with marks of white splattered across her muzzle and chest, extending as far as her whiskers. A soft black nose marks her well rounded maw, adding an extra splash of black on top of the white. Her fur is medium short in length, and never seems to mat much. Her pelt shines like a smooth stone in the sunlight, and the black in her fur helps to keep her warm when Leaf-bare reels its ugly head. Her body size is petite and built thin, making her quick on her paws but putting her at a disadvantage in combat with larger cats. HISTORY
Ravenstar's life has barely begun, yet it has been a long one. The young she-cat rose up to Leader stature in the short twenty six moon time frame she had been alive. Before Ravenkit and Owlkit were born, their mother Foxsong had done the unspeakable; she had fallen in love with a handsome loner that had begun to frequent the boarder of LeafClan. From the moment of their meeting they had been incredibly smitten with one another. They began to secretly meet under silverpelt's shadow, and it wasn't long before Foxsong was pregnant with Crow's kits. As she delved deeper into her Queening duties, the clan began to question who's kits they were. She stayed silent, insisting she wasn't to say anything because he was wanting to keep it quiet. Most of her Clan mates backed off, leaving her to her motherly duties as Leaf-bare came and went. She was blessed with two beautiful kits; one almost entirely black, and one almost entirely white. She loved her kits, and coddled and loved them to the depths of her heart.
The day came when her kits were running around on wobbly legs, and she was able to leave the nursery to stretch and eat. She would take these opportunities to climb silently down to the forest floor and survey the boarder in the hopes that she could see her Crow once more.
The day she saw him again was also the last day she ever would.
Finally she had been reunited with the love of her life, and soon she would be able to run away from the harsh Warrior life and give her kits something better. A smaller group to care for, and a family.
As she nuzzled Crow, the sound of angry hisses sounded off behind Foxsong. When her and her beloved turned to see a LeafClan boarder patrol, Foxsong panicked as her own Clan mates turned on her. Crow fought valiantly to protect his LeafClan Warrior, but failed. When he came to, he was laying next to her corpse. He took off heart broken and so far has never been heard from again.
When the LeafClan patrol returned to camp to tell their Leader what had happened, they insisted that the two remaining kits be slain as well. Ferretstar was adimantly against the decision, as well as mortified as to what his two Warriors had done. He exiled them both from LeafClan territory and took it upon himself to keep a watchful eye out for Ravenkit and Owlkit after arranging for a new Queen to feed them. The leader took a particular interest in Ravenkit, admiring her spunky personality and willingness to learn. Owlkit however was more of a challenge; the small kit had withdrawn into a shell after his mother's passing and it was impecably hard to get him out.
After the two cats were apprenticed, both started to show admirable as well as troublesome behaviours. Ravenpaw was apprenticed by Ferretstar himself, and Owlpaw was apprenticed by their deputy at the time, Frostwhisker. Ravenpaw was a talented hunter, and incredibly fast on her toes; but she was awkward still, and her long tail and tiny feet would often trip her. Ferretstar was patient with the little she-cat, and taught her everything she needed to know about climbing the tall trees of their territory, and running along branches safely without falling. He monitored his apprentice carefully and had developed almost a fatherly bond with her. He worried just like a father would; Ferretstar would check on her at night and find her murmuring in her sleep sadly, or in fear.
Owlpaw was different than his sister. He was largely built and a little more clumsy at first; but once he picked something up, he excelled at it. The apprentice was big for his age, and had a lot to show for it. When it came to fighting, Owlpaw was magnificent. The tom was full of brute strength, but Frostwhisker feared the anger he could see in Owlpaw's eyes. He was horribly strong, and pent up rage could do scary things to a cat.
As they became Warriors, Ravenpaw abandoned her old name and took on the name Ravensong, in honour of her mother. As Ferretstar named the she-cat, she felt nothing but happiness and honour for her leader, and an undying desire to make her Clan proud of her. She could see the respect and care in her Leader's eyes, and it filled her with warmth.
Owlpaw became Owlfeather, and the tom was finally crowned a Warrior. Owlfeather went on to battle many brutal fights for LeafClan, and would never come back unscathed; but his enemies always looked worse.
Throughout that time frame, Ferretstar had lost many lives, and by the time Ravensong had become a Warrior her leader was down to two. LeafClan was fighting a deadly feud with WaveClan over prey; Leaf-bare had been harsh, and all the clans had been suffering for it. When one lone cat returned from a hunting patrol one morning covered in bites and scratches, Ferretstar was mortified. His Warrior was so badly injured that she had dragged herself back to camp and was unable to climb alone. She had to stay in the medicine cat's den; one of the only dens with an easily accessible entrance through the lower trunk of one of the trees. Frostwhisker had been in that patrol, and a WaveClan cat had taken his life.
After retrieving his body the Clan paid their respects, fearful of the decisions ahead. No one was sure who would be LeafClan's new deputy.
As the sun began to descend, Ferretstar emerged to address the Clan. Upon announcing that Ravensong would be the new deputy, the she-cat froze in confusion and worry as her Clan mates eyed her down. Many of her Clan mates feared her to be a traitor just like her mother, despite both her and her brother's best efforts to deter the idea. Ferretstar couldn't stop the camp chatter when cats were sharing tongues no matter how hard he could try.
Even her brother began to turn his nose up at her. Between his grief for his deceased mentor and his distaste towards how unfair everything felt, Owlfeather had begun to feel jealous of his sister; always the favourite to their leader, just like a little kit that needs coddling. Eventually his resentment spread like bile, and they stopped speaking unless Ravensong was giving him something to do as his Deputy. It broke her heart to see her brother this way, but she continued on with her life regardless. She had an important job to do, after all.
When Ferretstar's final life was torn away from him, Ravensong was absolutely devastated. She was not ready to lead the Clan at twenty six moons; and she was not ready to loose the only father figure she had ever known, the only cat other than her brother that she had ever trusted. She became Leader that very night, feeling her old life ripped away from her and replaced by nine new ones.
