PERSONALITY
Bluestar is a gruff, motherly sort. With most stuff, she's been there, done that. Except for romantic relationships, she's clueless and slightly disdainful towards those. Unless you're her friend, she tends to treat you slightly condescendingly, as if you were her kit. She does think of the whole clan as her kit, however.
She takes her responsibility very, very seriously. She sometimes forgets herself and slips in micromanaging others lives, but she has enough respect for others boundaries that she can be told to back off. She tries to cram too much work and worry into each day, and is frequently reigned in by those close to her so that she doesn't burn herself out. She knows she must be healthy and well rested as the clan deputy, but her worries about the safety of her clan drive her to excessive work.
She has a strong temper; often reading insults or otherwise rude or malicious intent in innocent things others say or do, and it quick to defend herself or others against perceived social threats. On the flipside of this, she is the cat you want with you on your side. She is adamant about any opinion or cause she defends.
She tries to defend her loved ones so they do not have to defend themselves. She is is very wary of outsiders, and has had few friends from other clans in her lifetime. She doesn't see outsiders as immoral monsters, but with age comes experience, and her experience has taught her that outsiders are nothing but trouble for her clan.
Bluestar tends to nitpick most of everything, especially when it comes to things that are Clan business, such as how apprentices are trained or the borders are patrolled. She is aware of this and is trying to lighten up and listen to others ideas, but she finds it very hard.
She tries to appear formal at all times, and others may be intimidated by her gruff "all business" persona.
It's very important to her to be just and fair to everyone at all times. She often tries to play peacekeeper, but lacks the charisma to pull it off very often.
It's noteworthy that Bluestar was assigned male at birth. (She's a trans woman- trans molly?*) She's comfortable with herself, and hopes to have children someday if her mate is cis, but hasn't confided this in anyone but her sister.
NETTLEFANG of StoneClan - [Sister]
STARLNGCLAW of StoneClan - [First Apprentice & Friend]
TWISTEDFOOT of StarClan - [Mentor & Friend]
HISTORY
Bluekit and Nettlekit were born to a senior warrior in StoneClan, Greystorm. Greystorm never disclosed their other parent to them, or other cats in-clan. Some of the other elder warriors took offense to this, and terrible rumors circulated in-camp. Bluekit's and Nettlekit's kithood was charged due to this. Until they became apprentices, there were two factions in-camp. One small group that ignored Greystorm, and the rest of the clan, who respected her right to not disclose the other parent of the kits.
Nettlekit heavily resented her mother's treatment, even as it faded when they became apprentices. Bluekit thought it was irritating, but preferred to ignore it and stand by her mother rather than pick fights.
Bluepaw's mentor, Twistedfoot, was an ancient warrior whom many thought should be an elder already. Bluepaw grew to idolize her, and to this day misses her immensely.
It was a joke between Bluepaw and Nettlepaw that one of them would become clan leader, and the other would then be stinky mouse dung. This faded as they grew into their warrior duties. Nettlefang decided her place in the clan was in the warriors den, but she supported her sister's ambition. Bluestorm had her eyes fixed on authority. She felt the loyalty to the cats around her grow, and it pained her to see the fighting among the four clans. She wanted the ones close to her to be safe, and the best way for her to accomplish that was to become leader. She came out as female shortly after being given her warrior name.
Her first apprentice, Starlingpaw, was a handful. Even as an inexperienced warrior, Bluestorm had very clear ideas about how things should be done. Starlingpaw was fond of talking back and disobeying orders. Their early days together were mostly power struggles, until they both matured enough to be better teachers and students respectively. Bluestorm helped Starlingclaw realize his own gender.
Twistedfoot took to the elders den after Bluestorm was given her warrior name. Her and Greystorm had become close friends. Bluestorm tended to both with dutiful affection, until she took on deputy duties to her family's delight.
After taking on her duties as deputy, Twistedfoot passed away of greencough. Before leaving, she promised she would be watching her from StarClan. Bluestorm has the rest of her family to tend her, but still pines for her mentor.
With the recent passing of Amberstar, Bluestar is a whirlwind of emotion. It's too soon after Twistedfoot's death. She was ready to serve as deputy until her death, but never quite considered that she'd outlive Amberstar and become leader. She worries that she won't be up to the task of keeping her clan abreast of the rogues and rival clans- but that won't stop her from fighting for her clan with all she has.
Bluestar and Nettlefang are half-clan. Their other parent was a LeafClan warrior who is now deceased. Greystorm has yet to share this with her daughters.

APPEARANCE
Bluestar is built like a brick. She's squat, very close to the earth. Her legs are short and stout, the back ones well muscled from moons of climbing and leaping. Her form is rotund. She carries a belly paunch in all seasons. She's more prone to losing weight on her extremities than her belly. Her face is rounded, as well as her eyes. Her nose is pink in color and very pronounced. Her eyes are a vibrant yellow.
Underneath her fat is thick muscle. She's built like a wrestler. While inflexible and lacking in agility, she's very strong. Others might underestimate her due to her being small in height, but she is built powerfully and knows how to use this to her advantage. Most of her strength lies in her limbs. Traversing StoneClan territory her whole life has given her powerful legs for traversing the uneven, stony terrain. She can easily crush if position above an object.
At birth, her fur was a solid dark grey color with white markings. These were: a small diamond-shaped patch on her chest, the tip of her tail, and her two front paws. The white on her paws extends a ways up her leg.
Her fur is short with a coarse, brittle texture. If anything rubs it against its natural flow, it feels very unpleasant. Bluestar keeps herself well groomed, and tends to become fussy if dirt or debris are stuck in her fur. As she's aged, her muzzle and other extremities have grown grey as well.
She bears many scars, all testaments to her long moons. A battle in her youth left her with a large set of scars on her shoulders, where a DarkClan warrior pinned and slashed her.
